Ask yourself the following questions as you determine whether or not you will run for office.

• Why do you want to run for office?

• If running against an incumbent, what do you have that makes you a better candidate to serve the people?

• Are you willing to commit the time, money, and effort it takes to run for office?

• Realistically, can you win the position? Is it a strong Democrat district? Is there a strong Republican currently in that position?

• Are you willing to listen to and take advice from others?

• Is your spouse & family supportive of you running for office?

• Will you have to give up your job to serve in the position you are running for?

• Are you comfortable or okay with asking people for money?

• Do you have anything in your background that will hinder you from running for office?

• Do you have a full understanding of the role and responsibilities of the position you are running for?
